STOP D ABUSE would like to wish all

A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BRIGHT AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!
Can I TRUST HIM?

As I sit here, I mull over the conditions of His love and it overwhelms me. No condition- I mean nothing can keep Him from pursuing me! No mountain, no valley, neither death, nor sickness can keep me from His love. His love in UNCONDITIONAL. He pursues me hard. I do not have to strive for His love or sell my body and soul for it. Nothing can separate me from Him. He loves me and I try my best to love Him too but He can be trusted. I admit: I find it so hard to trust Him at times.

So many before HIM have made promises they could not keep. They could not hold the weight of my expectations. Their lofty claims of commitment are now vapours in the wind. Forgetting them was easy because they were forgettable. I made them gods-idols if you will-with great claims and little proof. I gave them my trust. They let me down. Still, He wants me to trust Him although He knows my track record. I can be fickle.

It can be so hard at times to trust His plans and His purposes. He assures me, “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.” Jeremiah 33:3

Isaiah 41:1 says “Do not be afraid for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name. You are mine.”

John 17:3 even says “I will be your God throughout your lifetime-until your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and I will save you. To whom will you compare Me to? I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Who is My equal? I am the Only True God.”

He has reassured me that He can be trusted. Chose to believe Him and stand firm on His promises.

Do you Trust Him?

I saw this article entitle "Why did you leave me behind" and thought I would share ....

Dear Mummy and Daddy,

I know you have not heard from me in a long time. I was really waiting to hear back from you. I thought you were sick. Every time I asked grandma she tells me stop bothering her. She says that you guys are up there for a reason. Anyway I am sending my clothes and show size because the last time you guys sent a barrel everything was too small. You would be surprised when you guys see me. I got so big. I even need a bra now. Do you guys remember what I look like? When grandma was in the hospital I had to learn to cook. It was not too hard because I have ben raising myself for a long time. Anyway, please write me soon and if not send me something for the New Year.

Your loving daughter,

Carol.

This is just another example of many children who have been left behind by their parents and are cared for by extended family members. Parents leave with the aspiration of seeking better lives for themselves and their children but in the end, all parties are left in pain and this child Carol is just one example of how many are hurting.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN LINKED TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROBLEMS- Daily Express- Monday December, 2014.

Unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections and miscarriages are more frequent among women who report having experienced violence at any point in their lives, studies from multiple countries around the world show.

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed each year on November 25, the Pan American Health Organization is calling for the health sector, especially sexual and reproductive health services- to be involved in efforts to prevent and respond to violence against women.

“This is a major problem with many health implications” said Dr. Carissa F Etienne, PAHO Director. “The health sector has a role to play in both prevention and response.”

Violence against women continues to be a serious public health problem in the Americas, where one in three women experiences physical or sexual violence by a non-partner during their lifetime, and 20 per cent of women report being sexually abused as children. Young women aged 15-19 are at risk of suffering physical or sexual partner violence, with many reporting their first sexual encounter as unwanted or forced. This violence not only results in physical injury or death but also has an under-recognised impact on women’s reproductive health, leading to more complications of pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy, miscarriage and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. In some countries in the Americas, levels of unwanted pregnancy ae two to three times higher among women who report partner violence compared with women who do not. Pregnancy loss is twice as high among women who report experiencing violence and the risk of premature labour is 1.6 times greater.

Studies have also found violence to be a significant cause of maternal mortality. Partner violence was the main cause of maternal death-responsible for 20 per cent of such deaths- in three U.S. cities during 1993-1998.

In the case of women who experience sexual assault, health services should assess their need for HIV or STI prophylaxis, make emergency contraception available and provide mental health.

Today's Word from Stacey is:

Psalm 91: 1-2 "Dwell in the safety of Almighty God"

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God: in Him will I trust.

Many times we think that that we can handle our hurts by ourselves, but really can we? The above verse encourages us to dwell in the Almighty, the Lord Jesus Christ and we should keep our trust in Him at ALL time.

I firmly believe that we are created by God for a purpose and it is only by constantly dwelling in God's presence that we can find and fulfil our purpose and our destiny.

There are 7 principles of purpose and they are as follows:
1. God is God of purpose
2. God created everything with a purpose
3. Not every purpose is known to us
4. Where purpose is not known abuse is inevitable
5. to discover purpose there is a need to ask the Creator and not the creation
6. we find purpose only in the mind of the maker
7. God's purpose is the key to our fulfilment.

In closing, my pray for you today is not only to dwell in the safety of Almighty God but that your purpose and destiny will be fulfilled, in Jesus's name, Amen.

Overcoming FEAR…

As a Christin FEAR stands for False Evidence Appearing Real but as of Sunday 30th November, 2014 I discovered that it really means Face everything and Rise. I found this to be quite innovative and real. So many times when faced with FEAR instinctively we would like to run away and seek solace in something that is familiar and don’t face reality or the unknown. But we should face FEAR head on.

Overcoming FEAR is gradual, but if we really want to be overcomers we need to face it.

As of last week I attended to a symposium on stopping violence against women and men and I realised that there have been many channels to assist persons who are presently being abused by a significant other but there is nothing in place to monitor and follow up persons as they recover and overcome a very traumatic experience.

This blog as a result is geared particularly towards this as it seeks to assist both parties and other persons in society overcome their fear.
